CONERO WINERY - CAMERANO

CONERO WINERY - CAMERANO

A landmark in the Rosso Conero area

Rosso Conero is one of the historical areas of wine production in the Marche region.
The Quality Assurance Label was established in 1967, one of the very first in Italy.
Conero Winery was built in 1972 and has always been a landmark in the Rosso Conero area.
In the late 1980's, an important qualitative change was made both in the selection of vineyards and in the winery's work, thus contributing to create the conditions for a rebirth in recent years.
In the early 1990's Moncaro decides to invest in the area and acquires the winery in 1995 after a period of close collaboration.

The winery resembles a “fashion house” for Conero's red wines.
Winemaking takes place in shallow and wide tanks with an ideal contact between cap and fermenting must, which implies a great care and strong intervention of the specialized human component. The barrel cellar is impressive capacity of about three thousand hectoliters with Slavonian and Allier oak barrels, Allier, Tronçais and Never barriques and a small amount of American wood.

Conero winery has 188 hectares of vineyards of which 122 are vineyards of Rosso Conero DOC and Conero DOCG.
The winery started cultivating new vineyards in the late 1990's, a fundamental base for the production of great wines.
The cultivated vines are the classic ones of Conero: Montepulciano and Sangiovese, as well as non-native varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
